Facing the Rain

hunched shoulders
        heavy with
    cares.
        rain
    pitters
and
    patters.
        I and I
gaze respectfully at
    earth.
        ante-eyes
need windshield
    wipers.
        penetrating
chaplet drops
        through holey
    sweater

deep breath, straighten up
face the rain. strong warmth
at core of being
spreads. adrenal glands
maybe? inspiration- and stress-related
no doubt.

shoulders back, face the silver.
it's just rain, face the rain,
taste the
    rain.
        <spectacles obscured,
eyes divulged,
    vision uncured.>
        no matter.
cool pelts the skin.
earth at my feet,
skies before my eyes,
through perspective,
Release.
