Cosmic Art

subtle
faintest of all frowns
wrinkled brow of a
befogged cherub
    one glance out the
corner pocket of her
mercurial visage

flickering
fleeting expressions
self's portals heavenward
superposed waves
    ruffle caterpillars across but
Mona-Lisa smile

so unlike the Mississippi,
the deep, broad
face, emotions
mouth, slow laugh
of an affable grandfather

I paused one cool, luminous night
to see wisps of clouds
catch on to the wind
and sail staidly on
passing from diffuse radiance
into milky gray obscurity.

On an easy breeze
sweep her emotions,
italicized by her
sky-canvas
of demureness.
