Hi there,Thanks for stopping by.
I think many of you probably look at this page and wonder about its spartan and simple look. You may ask:
Q: Where are all those gizmos on the page? Gadgets? Cool graphics?
Yes, I'm sure you've seen them all. Those nice little gadgets which show animations, or perhaps, if you click on it, some gimmick shows up. Originally, many of these seem quite cute. There is a novelty to this. However, as many of you probably know:
If I ever come up with gizmos, or gadgets, I'll be sure to isolate it in a separate page, away from the main content of the page. That way, those who want to see those gizmos, can go to the special section for that. But don't count on it.
- Some of them can be quite annoying.
- It makes the page very confusing to read and look at.
- It detracts from the main theme of the page.
- It may take longer to load up on some machines.
- I prefer content to gimmicks.
- I don't have the time nor the desire to set some up.
Q: Why are there no frames here?
As many of you probably know, web pages with frames have multiple sections. You may click on one section, and the state of another section changes. Now why don't I have frames?
- To make this page backward compatible with many browsers. This page even supports text browsers like Lynx!
- I don't have the time to set it up.
- Yes, sometimes frames annoy me. The old paradigm was, you click on a link, and you will always get the same link every single time. With frames, you aren't always sure which state of the frame you'll be getting to. I like the old paradigm better. Its quite simple, and deterministic.
Q: What if I disagree with your ideas? What if I have suggestions?
